Fulham have announced that Marco Silva will step down as head coach this summer.

Fulham have confirmed that Marco Silva will step down as manager this summer. He has been in charge of Craven Cottage for five years since taking over in 2021, making him one of the longest-serving managers in the Premier League and one of the longest-serving managers in English professional football. His tenure has also brought numerous successes to the club.

In an open letter to the fans, Marco Silva wrote: "To all the fans - from the day I came to the club, I hoped to walk hand in hand with you, and for the past five years, you have always been by our side. Together we have created many unforgettable memories."

“Over the years, the support you have given me and the coaching staff has always been evident, and I will always cherish this friendship. Fulham has left a deep impression on me, and I look forward to returning to Craven Cottage in the future.”

Fulham owner Shahid Khan also expressed his gratitude to Marco Silva. He said, "Marco Silva left the club with my gratitude and best wishes. The partnership between Fulham and Marco Silva over the past five seasons has been very successful, but the world of football is always changing, and we were prepared for this moment."

"A competitive squad, the historic Craven Cottage stadium, a loyal fanbase that has always supported the team, and the club's consistent and stable investment in development all make Fulham a very attractive destination for managers. We will complete the selection process for a new head coach at the appropriate time and ensure that he meets the club's development goals and the expectations of the fans."

Marco Silva's tenure at Fulham was marked by numerous impressive achievements, the most memorable of which was undoubtedly leading the team to their first league title in 21 years. That season, Fulham dominated the league with their powerful attack, scoring 110 goals and achieving three resounding 7-0 victories, ultimately returning to the Premier League as champions.

After two previous stints of promotion followed by rapid relegation, Fulham, under the leadership of Marco Silva, experienced a transformation. In the 2022/23 season, the team not only secured a place in the top half of the Premier League table but also gradually shed their "yo-yo club" label. Furthermore, they achieved their first victory over Chelsea in 17 years that season.

Marco Silva's tenure has consistently propelled Fulham's growth. By fully utilizing the players' strengths, the team has maintained a mid-table position in the league for three consecutive seasons and gradually established a stable development system. In 2025, Fulham set a new club record with 54 points in the Premier League. Furthermore, Marco Silva has led the team to the quarter-finals of domestic cup competitions four times, including their first-ever League Cup semi-final appearance.

During his time at Fulham, Marco Silva left an important mark on the club's development with his dedication and passion. His contributions will be remembered for a long time, and Craven Cottage will always welcome him back, where he will be treated as a VIP whenever he returns.
