On June 8th local time, France hosted Northern Ireland at Pierre Mauroy Stadium. Thanks to a hat-trick from Michael Olisse, they ultimately won 3-1 in their pre-World Cup friendly.

France started the first half strong. In the 9th minute, Theo Hernandez played a through ball from the edge of the box, but Kylian Mbappé's curling shot went wide to the right. In the 20th minute, Due's cross assisted Mbappe's finish, but the linesman raised his flag for offside.

Despite the disallowed goal, France continued their relentless attack. In the 24th minute, Olisse unleashed a long-range shot from outside the penalty area, but Charles made the save. In the 56th minute, Theo Hernandez crossed from the left wing, but Mbappe's shot went wildly over the bar. In the 63rd minute, Adrien Rabiot cut the ball back from the left side of the penalty area, but Maxence Lacroix's shot from the center also went high.

In the 73rd minute, Olise played a through ball from the edge of the penalty area, and Mbappe's shot went just wide.
