The Athletic's resident renowned English Liverpool team correspondent James Pearce, exclusively reported on Wednesday that the club has reached an agreement with Osasuna for the transfer of Spain international winger wonderkid Víctor Muñoz.
According to Pearce's report, Muñoz is one of the transfer targets personally wanted by new manager Andoni Iraola, and Liverpool immediately began preparations for his signing after Iraola took over.
Furthermore, realizing that his former club Real Madrid intended to trigger his €8 million buy-back clause soon, the Reds expedited negotiations, simultaneously engaging in tripartite talks with the player's agents and Osasuna.
It is understood that Liverpool's official delegation, under the direction of sporting director Richard Hughes, quickly reached an agreement with all parties, with the Reds agreeing to trigger Muñoz's €40 million release clause to sign the player.
Next, the Premier League giants will arrange Muñoz, who is currently playing at at the World Cup with the Spanish national team, to undergo a medical in the United States. Muñoz is expected to sign a six-year contract with the club, running until the summer of 2032.
Furthermore, Pearce confirmed that Muñoz's arrival will not affect Liverpool's plans to sign RB Leipzig wonderkid, Yan Diomande.
The Reds and RB Leipzig are expected to hold more in-depth talks regarding Diomande's transfer after the World Cup.

Víctor Muñoz, who is only 22 years-old, was born on July 13, 2003, in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. He is 1.73 meters tall and primarily plays as a left winger, but can also play as a right winger or center forward.
Muñoz joined Barcelona's renowned La Masia youth academy at the age of 14. In 2022, he moved to the La Fabrica youth academy of their arch-rivals Real Madrid, started playing for Real Madrid's B team in 2023, before completing his Real Madrid first-team debut by coming on as a substitute in the El Clásico in May 2025.
