With goals from Yamal and Oyarzabal, Spain secured a resounding 4-0 victory over Saudi Arabia in their second group stage match of the 2026 World Cup. De la Fuente stated that the team should not let external criticism bother them, but rather respond with their performance.

In the 10th minute, Oyarzabal crossed from the left, and Yamal slid in to score, giving Spain a 1-0 lead. In the 21st minute, Oyarzabal received a pass from Laporte in a scramble and fired a powerful shot into the net, extending Spain's lead over Saudi Arabia to 2-0.

In the 24th minute, Olmo headed the ball across the goal, and Oyarzabal volleyed it into the net, making it 3-0. In the 49th minute of the second half, Cucurella's shot was deflected, then struck Tambakti and bounced into his own net, extending Spain's lead to 4-0.

In the end, Spain defeated Saudi Arabia 4-0, securing an important 3 points.

Spain coach De la Fuente said, "When someone questions you, anyone with courage and self-respect will instinctively respond to prove them wrong. But we shouldn't see criticism as a source of annoyance; instead, it will motivate people to give their best. The only thing I want to say is that everything should remain rational and objective."
