Crystal Palace have extended the contract of Japanese midfielder Daichi Kamada for another year, until June 2027.

Crystal Palace officially announced on Wednesday that they have extended the contract of Japanese midfielder Daichi Kamada. The new contract extends the original expiration date this summer by one year, until June 30, 2027.

The 29-year-old Daichi Kamada previously played for Sagan Tosu, Eintracht Frankfurt, St. Tréden, and Lazio, winning the Europa League and German Cup with Frankfurt. In July 2024, he became the first Japanese player in Crystal Palace's history to join the club on a free transfer.

To date, Daichi Kamada has made 89 appearances for Crystal Palace, scoring 3 goals and providing 8 assists. His most illustrious achievements at Crystal Palace include winning the European Championship, the FA Cup, and the Community Shield with the team.

Before renewing his contract with Crystal Palace, Daichi Kamada was linked with transfers to several top European clubs, including Real Sociedad, Villarreal, AC Milan, Fiorentina, and Besiktas. However, Kamada ultimately chose to stay at Selhurst Park.

Regarding the contract extension, Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish commented: "It's great news for Crystal Palace that Daichi Kamada has renewed his contract. Daichi Kamada has played a huge role in midfield. He's loved by the fans both on and off the pitch."
