Gary Trent Jr. remains with the Bucks, signing a four-year, $64 million contract extension.

July 12 - According to ESPN, Gary Trent Jr. has reached a four-year, $64 million contract with the Milwaukee Bucks.

For the past two seasons, Trent has played for the Bucks, averaging 9.7 points per game with a 41% field goal percentage and a 39% three-point percentage. His consistent outside shooting ability has made him an important rotation player for the team.

Trent joined the Bucks on a minimum contract in the summer of 2024, and then signed a two-year, $7.5 million contract before the start of last season. However, he chose to decline his player option and re-enter free agency, attracting interest from several teams.

Sources revealed that Trent explored sign-and-trade options with other teams but ultimately chose to return to Milwaukee. Since his last two contracts were with the Bucks, the team possessed his Bird exception, allowing them to complete this extension. According to ESPN salary expert Bobby Marks, Trent's new contract's first-year salary is approximately $15.2 million.

With Trent's return, the competition in the Bucks' backcourt will become even fiercer. The team already has guards such as Tyler Herro, Caris LeVert, Ryan Rollins, and Kevin Porter Jr., and also selected Braden Boris with the 10th overall pick in this year's draft.
