Marseille midfielder Nader has joined Hamburg on a free transfer, on a three-year contract.

Hamburg officially announced on Friday that Marseille midfielder Villar Nader has joined the club on a free transfer. The two sides signed a three-year contract, valid until June 30, 2029.

The official announcement also confirmed that Nader will wear the number 4 jersey for Hamburg. He becomes Hamburg's second signing this summer, following Zambian striker Paterson Daka.

The 22-year-old Nader, a product of Nice's youth academy, made his professional debut for Marseille on September 24, 2023, in a Ligue 1 match against Paris Saint-Germain. Due to a partial tear of his right anterior cruciate ligament, he has only made 53 appearances for Marseille so far, scoring 2 goals and providing 5 assists.

Regarding the signing, Hamburger SV Chairman of the Board, Katherine Kluge, commented: "Vilal is a versatile and adaptable player who can play in multiple positions in midfield. At the same time, he also shows a high level of commitment and reliability on the defensive end."
