Manchester City have officially announced the contract extension with 22-year-old defender Husanov until 2031. Husanov stated that he is ready to help Manchester City achieve even greater success with his teammates.
Uzbekistan's Khusanov joined Manchester City in January 2025 and made 21 appearances in the 2025/26 Premier League season. After a period of adaptation and adjustment, Khusanov's overall performance has earned the approval of former manager Pep Guardiola.
In addition, Husanov had previously participated in the 2026 World Cup with Uzbekistan.
"This is a very special day for me and my family," Husanov said in an interview. "I am really happy to be able to stay in Manchester."
“Since arriving in Manchester, I have enjoyed every minute here. I feel that I am constantly growing and learning as a player.”
With the new season just around the corner, Manchester City, led by new manager Maresca, has begun training.
Husanov said, "Now I have a new challenge, which is to try to impress Maresca and his coaching staff and ensure that I can consistently enter the team's starting lineup. I will do my best to achieve this."
"Thank you to all the Manchester City fans for your continued support. Your support has been very important to me as I adapt to life in England and the Premier League."
In addition, Husanov added, "I will only continue to look forward, and I am ready to do everything I can to help Manchester achieve even more."
