The Nuggets hired Dave Joerger as their lead assistant coach to assist Adelman.

July 28th - According to ESPN , the Denver Nuggets have reached an agreement with Dave Joerger . He will join the team's coaching staff next season as head coach David Adelman 's lead assistant coach.

Joerger served as an assistant coach for nearly 20 years, coaching the Memphis Grizzlies and the Sacramento Kings. From 2013 to 2016 , he led the Grizzlies for three seasons before joining the Kings for three years. As an NBA head coach, Joerger's career record is 245 wins and 247 losses.

Joerger's arrival comes as Adelman enters his second full season coaching the Nuggets. Last season, the Nuggets finished with a 54-28 record , but were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs by the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The Nuggets have made several roster adjustments during the offseason, including waiving center Jonas Valanciunas and successfully matching an offer to retain Spencer Jones . Meanwhile, the team also needs to decide on the future of restricted free agent Payton Watson soon .
