Hugo Bueno: I hope to continue improving myself and strive to score more goals for the team.

Wolves defender Hugo Bueno says the team's preseason preparations under manager Cesar Peschoto have been full of positive signs, giving the squad confidence for the upcoming Championship season. Wolves defeated La Liga side Racing Santander 3-0 at Molineux Stadium in their final preseason friendly on Saturday afternoon.

Hugo Bueno started and played the full 90 minutes, contributing a brilliant goal. He capitalized on a defensive error, dribbling past several defenders before calmly slotting the ball into the far corner to extend the team's lead. Despite the team's tactical adjustments, Hugo Bueno demonstrated excellent adaptability. He hopes this victory will be a positive start to the new season for Wolves, helping the team move towards their goal of returning to the Premier League.

Speaking about the resounding victory in the final preseason game, Hugo Bueno said, "I feel great. It was a great experience for the whole team, and it's always nice to finish the preseason like this. This game showcased what we've been working hard to improve during preseason training. We always want to follow the coach's instructions and execute the tactics in games, which is also the goal the whole team strives for in order to win."

Speaking about his goal, Hugo Bueno said, "It was a fantastic goal. It's always a wonderful thing to score at home, and I'm happy to find my rhythm on the pitch. I've been working on that in training, so it felt great to score. Of course, I hope to continue improving, score more goals, and be more confident in these attacking positions in the future."

Regarding the team's shift from a five-defender system to a four-defender formation last season, Hugo Bueno stated that he is able to adapt to different tactics. He said, "Going from a five-defender to a four-defender is indeed different from last season, but I have no problem with either a four-defender or a five-defender. I have played in this system before."

“You just need to adjust some details, but ultimately it’s still football, so it’s not difficult for me. Everything we did in preseason was to prepare for the first official match. Like I said, it’s very important to end the preseason in this way. It will give all the players confidence and keep us moving forward. It’s going to be a great season, and I think the whole club has the same goal. Hopefully, we can achieve it.”
