Forensic pathologist confirms that NBA Memphis Grizzlies forward Clark died from a drug overdose.

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's Office officially announced on Friday that the cause of death for Memphis Grizzlies forward Brandon Clarke was "the combined effect of heroin and cocaine," ruled an accidental death. Additionally, "the combined effect of multiple prescription drugs" was also listed as a contributing factor to the death.

On the evening of May 11th this year, 29-year-old Clark was found collapsed in a Los Angeles residence. Paramedics arrived at the scene and pronounced him dead. Police found drugs at the scene and ruled out homicide.

Clark's sudden passing shocked the entire NBA. As a first-round pick in 2019, Clark played all seven seasons of his career with the Grizzlies, appearing in 309 games and averaging 10.2 points and 5.5 rebounds per game. He was a valuable partner to stars like Ja Morant.

At the time, the Grizzlies issued a statement of condolence, praising Clark as an outstanding teammate and stating that his impact on the team and the community would be remembered forever.

However, Clark has been plagued by injuries in recent years. After suffering a ruptured Achilles tendon, he only played two games last season due to injury. In April of this year, he was arrested in Arkansas for illegally possessing approximately 1,200 kratom pills. This substance, commonly used to relieve pain or anxiety, is prohibited in the state.

This formidable inside player, who once finished fourth in the Rookie of the Year award, tragically passed away due to doping and drug-related issues, a truly heartbreaking loss.
