Atalanta's Italy international attacking midfielder Daniel Maldini officially joins Cagliari on loan..


Cagliari announced on their official website on Monday that Atalanta's Italy international attacking midfielder Daniel Maldini has joined the club on-loan.


According to Cagliari's official statement, Maldini will play for the club on-loan until the end of the new season, with a conditional mandatory buyout clause included in the loan agreement.


About Daniel Maldini


The 24-year-old Maldini was born on October 11, 2001, in Milan, Italy. He is 1.88 meters tall and primarily plays as an attacking midfielder, but can also play as a center forward. Born into a footballing family, his father Paolo and late grandfather Cesare were both legendary AC Milan captains.


Maldini followed in his father Paolo's footsteps, joining AC Milan's youth academy at a young age, and completed his first-team debut by coming on as a substitute in February 2020.


During his three-year spell with I Rossoneri, Maldini won one Serie A title with the team.


From the summer of 2022 to the latter half of the following year, Maldini successively played on-loan at Spezia and Empoli.


In January 2024, Maldini joined Monza on-loan, with his ownership being permanently bought out that summer.


On the winter transfer window deadline day of the following year, Maldini moved to Atalanta for €13 million.


In January 2026, Maldini joined Lazio on-loan.


During his loan spell at Lazio, Maldini made 14 appearances for the Serie A club in all competitions, scoring 2 goals and providing 2 assists.
