Chilean star Alexis Sanchez has joined Montreal as a free agent and will wear the number 10 jersey.

Montreal announced on Tuesday that Sevilla striker Alexis Sanchez has joined the club on a free transfer. The two sides signed a contract until June 30, 2027, with the club retaining an option to extend the contract until the 2027/28 season.
With the signing completed, Sanchez has officially become Montreal's designated player. It has also been confirmed that he will wear the number 10 jersey in the MLS.
The 37-year-old Sanchez came through the Cobreloa youth academy and played for numerous clubs throughout his career, including Udinese, Colo-Colo, River Plate, Barcelona, Arsenal, Manchester United, Inter Milan, Marseille, and Sevilla. As one of the most outstanding strikers in Chilean football history, he has made 788 club appearances to date, scoring 215 goals and providing 154 assists. He has won two Chilean First Division titles, one Argentine Primera División title, one La Liga title, one Club World Cup title, one UEFA Super Cup title, one Copa del Rey title, three Spanish Super Cup titles, two FA Cup titles, three Community Shield titles, two Serie A titles, one Coppa Italia title, and two Italian Super Cup titles.
At the national team level, Sanchez also made significant contributions. He made 168 appearances for Chile, contributing 51 goals and 41 assists, and won the Copa America twice (2015, 2016).
