New manager Jaissler hopes to use every minute to improve Newcastle's performance.

Newcastle's new manager, Jaissler, said in an interview that he was very happy to be here and hoped to use every minute with the coaching staff to improve and adjust Newcastle.

In the 2025/26 Premier League season, Newcastle finished 12th after facing various challenges, missing out on European competitions in the new season.

Following Eddie Howe's resignation as manager last month, German Jäussler was appointed as Newcastle's manager earlier this month.

"The players had a few days off, so I used that time to get familiar with the training ground and learn a little about the city," said 38-year-old Jaissler. "This is our first training session since arriving in Newcastle, and the facilities here have impressed me very much. Now that I'm finally in Newcastle, I'm very excited."

"When everyone is together and there are no external distractions, it's great for the initial stages, but I'm also very happy to be here at Newcastle. Our only focus is on the work we do each day, and we hope to keep developing and improving within the limited time available, making the most of every minute of each day."

Jaisl pointed out, "Being in a transition period is indeed a huge challenge, but now is not the time to complain, and there's no point in constantly looking at the negatives. We want to change the current situation, and that's the attitude we've had from day one. We're here to do our best and to provide support to the players."

“There will definitely be some adjustments in the coming weeks, but for now we just need to focus on our daily work and the things we can really influence and change.”

Speaking about St. James' Park, Jaisl said, "I visited the stadium a few days ago, and it's an incredible stadium. I can't wait to see it filled with our own fans. When I walked into the stadium with my assistant coaches, we just looked at each other and then we all had big smiles on our faces. We got goosebumps. It's really special."

“We need to be proactive, high-intensity, aggressive, and of course, successful. There is a very close relationship between the philosophy of our coaching team and the identity that Newcastle has always represented. In my opinion, it is a perfect combination.”

In addition, Jaisl said, "I saw that Waltermad had gone through a very difficult period. We had a lot of communication from day one, but we should leave the past behind because what's past can't be changed. The most important thing now is to look forward, find solutions, and do our best not only to help Waltermad, but also to help all the other players continue to improve."

“We need to find a position where the players feel comfortable and let them play according to our game philosophy and tactical principles before we can see their growth and progress.”
