Sheffield United midfielder Gustavo Hamer officially rejoins Coventry City..

Coventry City announced on their official website on Thursday that Sheffield United midfielder Gustavo Hamer has rejoined the club.

According to Coventry City's official statement, Hamer has signed on a long-term four-year deal with club which runs until the summer of 2030.

After completing his transfer procedures, Hamer, who was interviewed by the Coventry City official website again, said: "I'm incredibly excited; this is the transfer I've always dreamed of."

"Joining Coventry and playing in the Premier League has always been my dream, so when the club extended an offer to me again, I was incredibly excited and very happy."

"The love the fans have given me is touching, and all I can repay them with are goals, assists, and great performances, which is what I strive for. Of course, you can't score or assist in every game, but all I can do is give 100% for the club crest, for the club, and for the fans."

About Gustavo Hamer

The 29-year-old Hamer was born on June 24, 1997, in Itajai, Brazil. He is 1.70 meters tall and primarily plays as a center midfielder, but can also play as a left midfielder. He holds dual Brazilian and Dutch citizenship.

Hamer joined Feyenoord's youth academy at a young age and made his Feyenoord first-team debut by coming on as a substitute in the derby against Ajax in April 2017. 

In August of the same year, Hamer was loaned-out to Dordrecht.

In the summer of 2018, Hamer moved to Zwolle for €750,000.

During his two-years at Zwolle, Hamer helped the club avoid relegation.

In July 2020, Hamer joined Coventry City for £1.5 million.

During his three-year spell with the Sky Blues, Hamer helped the team qualify for the EFL Championship promotion play-offs once.

In August 2023, Hamer moved to Sheffield United for £15 million.

During his three years with the Blades club, Hamer made 123 appearances for the EFL Championship club in all competitions, scoring 22 goals and providing 29 assists.
