Raul Jimenez: We must further improve our offensive performance and seize every scoring opportunity possible.

Wolves striker Raul Jimenez believes the team should see a positive side in their Championship opener against Blackburn Rovers. Despite falling behind twice, Wolves never gave up and displayed a tenacious fighting spirit. Ultimately, they equalized in stoppage time, drawing 1-1 and earning their first point of the new season.

This match also held special significance for Raul Jimenez, marking his first appearance for Wolves in the Championship three years after leaving the club. In the final stages of the game, he stepped up to take a penalty and calmly converted it, helping Wolves equalize and avoid defeat in their opening match of the new season.

Raul Jimenez, speaking about his return goal, said: "I'm really happy to be back here. What's even more gratifying is that I was able to score in the team's first Championship game of the new season, which is a very special feeling for me."

"Although the final score was not what we expected, nor was it the result we hoped to achieve before the match, that's the Championship. We must adjust our form as soon as possible, continue to focus on training, be better prepared for the next match, and then look ahead."

“From the moment I first joined the club eight years ago, I have always felt the support and love from the fans. Whether it was the five years I played for the team before or the three years I left, this feeling has never changed. I will give my all in every game and hope to repay the fans and their families for their continued support with my performance.”

“I’ve always wanted to repay the fans for their support. Even though I was no longer a member of the club, they still gave me the same passion and love. Being able to stand here again and respond to that feeling with my actions is really important to me.”

Regarding the team's missed opportunities in the first half, Raul Jimenez said, "We must further improve our ability to seize opportunities in attack. Whether it's the final pass or the final touch in the penalty area, we need to be more precise. We will continue to improve these details through training."

"The season has only just begun. Although we unfortunately dropped two points in this game, the team still has a lot of room for improvement. We need to continue to work together, further enhance our teamwork, fully understand the coach's tactical requirements, clarify everyone's responsibilities in the team, and prepare for the upcoming games."

Reflecting on the late penalty goal, Raul Jiménez said, "I always believed the goal would come because we were constantly striving for victory from the moment the opening whistle blew. We were attacking aggressively throughout the game, but football is sometimes full of surprises and changes."

"When we fell behind again, the team had to push forward further, trying to find a breakthrough in the opponent's dense defense. However, at the same time, we could not ignore the opponent's counter-attack threat. In the face of such a situation, the most important thing is to remain calm and patient, and not to let the overall formation be damaged by being too eager to advance."

"We persevered to the end with our tenacious willpower, which shows that the team has a strong fighting spirit. Although the overall performance was not ideal, the result is still commendable. Rather than regretting missing two points, we should focus on the one point we secured. Now, we need to turn our attention to the next game."
