Maresca stated that Manchester City may bring in several more new players.

The 2026 Community Shield will be played at the Millennium Stadium, where Manchester City will face off against a strong Arsenal for the title. Manager Maresca has indicated that the club may bring in a few more new players during this transfer window.

Manchester City previously signed England midfielder Elliott Anderson and Argentine goalkeeper Gironimo Rulli, while Foden, Gwadiol and Doku renewed their contracts with the club.

Manchester City manager Maresca said, "We certainly still have some things to do, but I don't know exactly how many. It could be one player, or it could be two, and it also depends on whether any players leave."

“This is my first final since I took over as manager of this club, and I will do my best to help the team win the trophy. Personally, my focus right now is not on players who may leave or join the team. My main focus is on how to prepare for the game in the best way possible and try to win the final.”

Maresca stated, "The transfer window is still open; we can buy players, and we can trade players; anything can happen. I just saw Rodri at the training ground; he looked good, so we'll see what happens next."

When asked about Reindes' future, Maresca said, "The deal isn't officially finalized yet, and we'll see how things go in the next few hours. I've spoken with him a few times during the preseason. We'll ultimately see if he leaves or stays. Based on his performance in the preseason, I'm satisfied with his overall play."

“I’ve known Reindes since I was in Italy, when he played for AC Milan, so I know him quite well. He probably played a different position there; he prefers to play deeper rather than further forward. He’s been playing very well in preseason, and now we’ll see what happens next before making a decision.”
