James Garner: I hope to continue playing consistently and maintain my current level of performance.

James Garner expressed his gratitude to his teammates and fans for awarding him both the "Player of the Season" and "Players' Choice Player of the Year" awards.  

James Garner said, "I'm very happy to receive this recognition, whether from my teammates or the fans. I'm very grateful. I realized at the beginning of the season that I had to deliver a great performance. I've been here for three years and have experienced some injuries, so I felt this was a year when I really had to step up and take on more responsibility."  

“Last summer I told myself that I had to return to the court in better physical condition and with a more hungry mindset, and I did. I had a great start to the season and I’m glad that I can continue to do so.”  

"I'm very happy that the head coach sees me as a potential leader for the team. Although I'm not usually talkative, I will definitely step up when I need to speak up; I'm not introverted in that respect. I think my leadership style may be different from some of my teammates. For example, Coleman is very good at communicating and expressing himself, while I'm not that type. But I will motivate the team through my attitude in training and my daily performance, hoping that my teammates can take me as an example and give 100% effort every day. This is also what the fans expect, so I hope that I am leading the team in the right way."  

“From the perspective of the whole season, we were disappointed with our performance in the last few games, and everyone was frustrated. But at the same time, we still had a chance to compete for European qualification at the end of the season, which shows that we have indeed made progress. I am 100% sure about that.”  

“This season has been much better than the past few years. We were still competing for European qualification in the final stages, and if someone had told us that at the start of the season, we would have gladly accepted it. Of course, as a club like Everton, we should always aim for European qualification, but considering the overall situation over the past few years, this is a clear improvement. Although we didn't achieve that in the last few weeks, we must look at the positives and continue to improve to strive for even better results next season.”  

“My personal goals remain unchanged. I hope to continue to perform consistently and maintain my competitive level. I am also very happy to have made my England senior national team debut, which was a dream come true. Although I am a little disappointed that I was not selected for the World Cup, it will only motivate me to work harder and become my driving force.”  

"For the team, our goal is of course to return to European competition. We came very close to that goal this season, so we know we can do better next season and ultimately achieve it. Thank you again for your support, have a great summer, and see you next season."
