Manchester United announced on their official website on Wednesday that arch-rivals Liverpool's wonderkid Isaac Konde has officially joined the club.
According to Manchester United's official statement, Konde has signed a one-year scholarship deal and is set to sign his first professional contract, a five-year deal, upon turning 17. Manchester United will also pay Liverpool a youth compensation fee of nearly £2 million.
Konda is the second young player in recent days to move to Manchester United from a direct rival.
Not long ago, the Red Devils also signed England U17s international Karim Cassim from their local rivals, Manchester City.
It is worth mentioning that while the intense rivalry between the two clubs means direct transfers of first-team players between them have become virtually non-existent, the movement of youth players between the two academies is not uncommon.
Before joining Manchester United, Konde had even reportedly attracted interest from clubs such as Arsenal, Real Madrid, and Borussia Dortmund.
About Isaac Konde
Konde, who is only still 16 16-years old, was born in England on October 22, 2009. He plays as an attacking midfielder and is of Congolese descent.
Konda joined Liverpool's renowned Kirkby youth academy at the age of eight and began representing the Reds' U18s squad in January 2026.
During the first half of the year, he made six appearances across all competitions for the Premier League giants' U18 team and recorded one assist.
