Frosinone announced on Thursday that it has renewed the contract of Fares Guedemis. The new contract extends the original 2028 expiry date by two years, until June 30, 2030.
With the signing of the contract extension, the discussion surrounding Guedemis's future has temporarily come to an end. This summer, he was linked with several teams, including Celtic, Rangers, Besiktas, and Monaco, with Monaco even offering nearly 10 million euros.
The 24-year-old Guéjemis was born in Montreuil, France, to Algerian parents. He grew up in the youth academies of clubs such as Troyes and Le Havre, and early in his professional career played in the lower leagues of France with Evre, Vanne, and Rouen.
In January 2024, Guedemis joined Frosinone from Rouen for €300,000. A left-footed right winger, he has made 70 appearances for Frosinone to date, contributing 17 goals and 5 assists, and helped the Canaries achieve promotion to Serie A last season as runners-up in Serie B.
At the national team level, Guedemis chose to represent his parents' homeland, Algeria. He also represented Algeria as a substitute in the 2026 World Cup, ultimately only making about one minute of playing time in the group stage.
