Chavarria aims to win a title with Chelsea and earn a place in the national team.

Chelsea defender Chavarria shared his feelings about joining the "Blues" in an interview, and set his sights on winning championships with the team and being selected for the Spanish national team.

The 28-year-old Chavarria previously played for Rayo Vallecano in La Liga before joining Chelsea in August of this year and signing a five-year contract.

Chavarria has already made 5 appearances for Chelsea in the 2026/27 Premier League season.

In an interview, Chavarria shared, "It's all so incredible. It's so exciting to be at such a great club, and I've received such a warm welcome from my teammates. I'm very happy with everything. My teammates and the staff have all shown me so much love."

“We have a group of top players who are very competitive and have a very strong mentality. I love this environment because I can learn from it. It’s a pleasure to play with these players because you can improve yourself when you play alongside the best.”

Chavarria shared, “Caicedo has been by my side the whole time and is still teaching me English because I need to learn the language. In the first few days after I arrived, I was busy spending time with my family and friends. We went to Buckingham Palace, Big Ben and the London Eye. It’s such an amazing city.”

“I think the Premier League is the best league in the world. The pace of the game is fast, the players are outstanding, and the overall level is very high. For me, it is also the league that best suits me because I am a physically strong player who likes to run back and forth between the two penalty areas. La Liga is more about systems and tactics, while here, the players are more individually capable and the physical confrontation is more intense.”

Chavarria pointed out, "The Premier League is tougher because every team has very good players. Even the team at the bottom of the table is capable of beating the team at the top. Because you are facing top players, you have to be at your best. Here, a moment's lapse in concentration can lead to defeat. So you must always maintain a high level of focus."

“Xabi Alonso is one of the best coaches in the world today. I have learned a lot from him and I know he wants to help me improve. I am constantly learning and adapting well to the team. I think I still have more room to play and can continue to improve. He wants me to put a lot of energy into both attack and defense. At the same time, we have many tactical options, and I think this team has a very well-rounded squad.”

Furthermore, when discussing future goals, Chavarria stated, "I want to win titles, and I also hope to help the team qualify for the Champions League. Chelsea is one of the best clubs in the world, and we should win at least one title every year and participate in the Champions League."

"First, I want to win a championship, and then try to be selected for the national team. However, for me, the club is the most important thing. I believe we will continue to win, make the fans happy, and make them happy because we win championships."
