Luca Ranieri confirms he will extend his contract with Fiorentina: We are finalizing some of the details.

Luca Ranieri announced on Tuesday that he is close to reaching a contract extension agreement with Fiorentina. The two sides expect the contract to run until June 30, 2029, with an option to extend for another year.

According to an exclusive preview released by Sky Sport 24, Ranieri confirmed his contract extension during a live interview with Italian transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio. He told Di Marzio clearly: "Contract extension? We are currently finalizing the details, with only a few finishing touches left. This extension means a lot to me. I am very happy and honored to continue at this club. I have been playing for Fiorentina since I was 13 years old, experiencing both highs and lows. It is an honor for me to continue here."

Ranieri also did not rule out the possibility of ending his career at Fiorentina: "Staying with the team for life? The world of football is unpredictable. However, it would be very special to play for Fiorentina for another three years. I can't wait to prove how much I want to stay."

Ranieri was born in La Spezia in 1999 and officially joined Fiorentina's youth academy at the age of 13. Early in his career, he was loaned out to clubs such as Foggia, Ascoli, SPAL, and Salernitana until he finally established himself in Fiorentina's first team in the 2023/24 season.

Today, Ranieri has become an indispensable pillar of Fiorentina's defense. He primarily plays as a center-back for Fiorentina, contributing 12 goals and 6 assists in 164 appearances across all competitions, and has also represented the team in the European Championship four times.
