Lamin Yamal was named La Liga Player of the Year for the 2025/26 season thanks to his outstanding performance.

Lamin Yamal was a focal point on the pitch throughout the season. The striker's consistent and outstanding performances helped Barcelona win the league title and ultimately earned him the 2025/26 La Liga Player of the Year award.  

This is also a significant breakthrough in the individual honors of the Barcelona number 10 player, adding another highlight to Hansi Flick's championship season. Barcelona has already won three major honors this season: Hansi Flick was named Coach of the Season for the second consecutive year, Joan Garcia won the Best Save of the Season award, and now Lamin Yamal has taken home the Player of the Season award.  

Throughout the season, Lamin Yamar consistently played a crucial role in matches. His exceptional dribbling, goal-scoring ability, and playmaking creativity repeatedly tore apart opposing defenses, making him a key target for opposing teams' attacking playmakers. Statistically, he contributed 16 goals and 11 assists in the league, making him the only player in La Liga to achieve this level of assist output.  

The 2025/26 season was Lamin Yamal's highest-scoring league season to date, with 16 goals, sharing the Zara Trophy (La Liga's top domestic scorer award) with Ferran Torres. As a key attacking pivot in Hansi Flick's tactical system, his consistent output provided crucial support for Barcelona's eventual league title win.  

This marks the second consecutive year that a Barcelona player has won the award, with Rafinha taking the crown last season. Despite the different players, the honor consistently belongs to the same club. Barça's continued dominance in domestic competitions for two consecutive seasons makes this a truly celebratory moment.
