League of Legends: Classic server news confirmed, core content returns to Season 3, several questions remain unanswered. (Part 2)

As the hype quickly died down, the official announcement of the classic server was indeed made. Creating buzz and generating high discussion beforehand ensured widespread participation upon its official launch, with many veteran players returning. Revealing some details further fueled anticipation, achieving two goals at once. With Season 3 content as the core gameplay, everyone was eager to experience the ancient heroes, each move vividly remembered. How they used to unleash burst damage with the old Graves, the Deathfire Cape AP assassin, or Fiora's ultimate to wipe out team fights—carrying them into battle rekindled their childhood gaming passion. This is the charm of the classic server. How long it will last is unknown; humans, craving novelty, might quickly forget.

Content creators jump on the bandwagon

After the official launch of the Classic version, its popularity will inevitably remain for a while. At the launch, some streamers will take advantage of the traffic to explain and analyze hero gameplay, item builds, team compositions, and details, etc., reintroducing knowledge to newcomers and developing alternative strategies. This is indeed helpful for content planning. However, returning to the essence of MOBA games, the Classic version cannot be played forever. It is more like a promotional launch, a large-scale effort to remind the public that League of Legends still exists.

Although the finalized content dates back to Season 3, it is a standalone, remake version with significant limitations. Some netizens questioned how the developers would balance it, with an overabundance of powerful heroes. In other words, the development potential is weak. If bad attributes are added, it will eventually lead to an overpowered monster melee, which is no different from a regular brawl mode. The experience is poor and ultimately affects the player's mentality.

Version updates remain a mystery.

Returning to the Classic server, or for newcomers, the initial motivation is likely pure entertainment, experiencing the combat environment of the old seasons, where wins and losses are unpredictable—be prepared for that. However, after a while, players will get tired of their old heroes and gradually lose interest. Therefore, the developers probably won't sit idly by; there might be events to stimulate players, allowing them to start from scratch and unlock heroes and runes. Another question concerns the seasonal updates for Classic. The initial enthusiasm fades quickly, and the designers face the same recurring problem: how to retain players? This makes one wonder if Classic will receive any version updates.
