Chelsea officially announce the signing of Atalanta's Italy international right wing-back wonderkid Marco Palestra..

Chelsea announced on their official website on Wednesday that they have signed Italy international right wing-back wonderkid Marco Palestra from Atalanta.

According to Chelsea's official statement, Palestra has signed on a long-term seven-year deal with the club which runs until the summer of 2033.

Furthermore, according to Sky Sports, Chelsea paid Atalanta €55 million to sign Palestra.

In fact, Palestera's former club Inter Milan were also interested in signing him, but the Blues suddenly joined the transfer race a week ago and quickly hijacked the deal.

After completing his transfer, Palestra, who was interviewed by the Chelsea official website for the first time, said, "Many factors led me to join Chelsea; it's one of the best clubs in the world."

About Marco Palestra

Palestra, who is only still 21 years old was born on March 3, 2005, in Buccinasco, Italy. He is 1.86 meters tall and primarily plays as a right wing-back, but can also play as a right midfielder, left wing-back, or left midfielder.

Palesteta played for Inter Milan's youth academy at the age of nine before moving to Atalanta's youth academy the following year. He completed his Atalatna first-team debut in a UEFA Europa League match in December 2023.

During his two-year spell with La Dea, Palestera won the UEFA Europa League once with the club.

In the summer of 2025, Palestera joined Cagliari on-loan.

Last season, Palestra made 37 appearances for Gli Isolani in all competitions, scoring one goal and providing four assists, earning him the Serie A Defender of the Year award.
