July 3 - According to ESPN , the Houston Rockets have reached a contract agreement with restricted free agent Tali Ethan . Both sides intend to sign him to a five- year, $ 81.5 million extension, which is fully guaranteed.

 

Ethan was selected by the Rockets with the 17th overall pick in the first round of the 2022 NBA Draft. In the 2025-26 season , the 25- year-old had the best performance of his career, averaging 25 minutes per game in 60 games, starting 34 of them , and contributing 10.5 points, 6.3 rebounds and 1.2 steals per game.

 

However, Ethan missed a significant portion of his second season due to a left calf injury, raising questions about his stamina. Last October , the two sides negotiated an early contract extension, with the Rockets offering a very attractive deal. However, due to disagreements over the guaranteed amount, they ultimately failed to reach an agreement before the deadline, and Ethan entered the restricted free agent market.
