Official: Former Valencia right-back Thierry Correa joins Venezia on a free transfer.

Serie A newcomers Venezia released a statement on Thursday confirming the signing of former Valencia right-back Thierry Correa on a free transfer. The two sides signed a contract until the end of the 2026/27 season, with an option for a one-year extension.

Correa, 27, was born in Amadora, northwest of Lisbon, and officially joined Sporting CP's youth academy in 2009. Since making his professional debut on November 30, 2018, in a Europa League group stage match, he has only made 7 appearances for Sporting CP.

In September 2019, Correa transferred to Valencia for €12 million. To date, he has made 160 appearances for Valencia, scoring 2 goals and providing 6 assists.

Following the signing, Correa stated in an official statement: "I chose to join Venezia because I believe the club has a great plan. I think the city and environment here are fantastic, making it the ideal place for me to continue growing, advance my career, and help the team achieve great results next season."

He concluded by promising the Venezia fans: "I will give it my all. I will train hard every day to help the team achieve as many victories as possible in Serie A."
