Aruna Sangant: I have never doubted my choice, and now I am most looking forward to starting a new journey as soon as possible.

Sevilla's new signing Aruna Sangante recently gave his first official club interview since joining the club. The Senegalese center-back stated that what attracted him to Sevilla was not only the club's long history and rich heritage, but also the opportunity to continuously improve his personal skills in the Spanish football environment.  

When asked about his reasons for joining Sevilla, Aruna Sangant said, "What ultimately led me to choose Sevilla was the club's long history, glorious achievements, and the many excellent players who have left their mark here. These factors attracted me deeply, so I decided to come here."  

Speaking about his technical strengths, Aruna Sangant said, "I consider myself a player with excellent physical strength, an aggressive playing style, and a strong defensive presence. However, I'm not satisfied with the status quo and hope to further refine my technical abilities. This is also a major reason why I chose to come to Spain and join Sevilla. I hope to continuously improve myself, master more game skills, and make my performance more well-rounded."  

Aruna Sangant also discussed his leadership skills. He revealed that he served as captain from his youth team days, an experience that played a crucial role in his professional development. He continued, "I started as captain at a very young age, which allowed me to accumulate a lot of experience during my three seasons in Ligue 1. As I grew older, I gradually learned how to lead the dressing room, how to communicate effectively with my teammates, and how to say the right thing at crucial moments. I believe that the people around me and my growth experiences along the way have shaped the more mature person I am today."  

“As I’ve grown older and gained more experience, I’ve gradually found the role that suits me best. I used to play as a defensive midfielder, and then I gradually switched to center-back. Now I really enjoy this position because it allows me to better observe the situation of the whole game. I’m responsible for protecting my teammates and helping the goalkeeper solidify the defense. Defending has always been my favorite thing, it’s a characteristic ingrained in my bones, and I’ve always considered myself a player who excels in defense.”  

When asked about his primary goal after joining the team, Aruna Sangant said, "I have watched some of the team's recent match videos. With the new season approaching, I hope to familiarize myself with the team as soon as possible and integrate into the new environment. At the same time, I also hope to fully understand the head coach's tactical requirements for me, which will not only help me perform at my best but also enable me to contribute better to the team."  

“Many people have told me that the fans here have a great passion for football and will wholeheartedly support the players who give their all on the field. They made me realize that whether in training or in a match, I must always maintain the highest level of commitment and never slack off. As long as you give your all, the fans will always support you, which will not only help you integrate into the team better but also make your career here smoother. These suggestions have benefited me a lot.”  

Speaking about his knowledge of Sevilla, Aruna Sangant added: "I know that Sevilla has won the Europa League seven times, which is an amazing achievement. I also know that the club has a rich history, and many world-class stars have played here and written their own legends for the club. Their names will forever remain in the history of Sevilla."  

“The development plans here are very attractive. I have been following this club closely, especially the atmosphere of the Seville derby, the passion of which I really admire. I believe that being able to participate in it firsthand would be an unforgettable experience, which is one of the important factors that led me to join. I have never doubted my decision, and now I am most looking forward to starting a new challenge as soon as possible.”
