Udinese officially announce the signing of Athletic Bilbao's Spain U23s international attacking midfielder Unai Gómez..

Udinese announced on their official website on Wednesday that they have signed Spain U23s international attacking midfielder Unai Gómez from Athletic Bilbao.

According to the Serie A club's official statement, Gómez has signed on a five-year long-term five-year deal with the club which runs until the summer of 2031.

About Unai Gómez

The 23-year-old Unai Gómez was born on May 25, 2003, in Bermeo, Basque County, Spain. He is 1.83 meters tall and plays as an attacking midfielder.

Gómez joined his hometown club Bermeo's youth academy at the age of 10, then joined Athletic Bilbao's youth academy the following year. In 2016, he joined Danok Bat's youth academy, but returned to Athletic Bilbao's youth academy three years later.

In the summer of 2021, Gómez began playing for Athletic Bilbao's satellite team, and the following summer he started playing for the B team, before completing his Athletic Bilbao first-team debut in August 2023 against Real Madrid.

During his three-year spell with Lehoiak, Gómez made 117 appearances for the La Liga powerhouse in all competitions, scoring 6 goals and providing 5 assists, as well as winning the Copa del Rey once.
