Kelkaz Milos said he was happy to reunite with new head coach Iraola.

With the new season set to kick off in August, teams have begun training one after another. Liverpool defender Milos Kelkaez said in an interview that he was very happy to reunite with new manager Andoni Iraola and praised Iraola as a very friendly person.

Andoni Iraola, from Spain, was appointed Liverpool's new manager in June and signed a two-year contract. The 44- year-old Iraola previously managed Bournemouth, leading the "Bernards" to a Europa League spot in the 2025/26 Premier League season.

It's worth mentioning that Kelkaz Milos played under Andoni Iraola during his time at Bournemouth.

Kelkaez Milos said, "I'm really happy they've come to Liverpool. We had a wonderful time together at Bournemouth. I was, of course, very happy when I heard that Andoni Iraola was going to manage Liverpool. I know him very well; we worked together for two years. They know me, and I know them, and I believe they can bring a lot to this club."

“Especially Iraola, his playing style, pace, and the way he wants the team to play are all very suitable for Liverpool. I believe it will be an exciting journey ahead.”

Kelkez Milos continued, "Iraola is a great guy, really great. He tells the players directly what he wants them to do, and whether they can do it or not is up to the players themselves. If they can't do it, they won't play, it's that simple. But he's really great because he tells the players very clearly what they need to do for the team."

"He may not be a particularly talkative person, but he expresses his emotions without reservation. Just look at how he directs the game from the sidelines, and you'll know he's full of passion and energy. He comes from Athletic Bilbao, where the football culture is inherently full of this kind of fighting spirit. So I think he's the most suitable manager for Liverpool because his football philosophy fits the team very well."

In addition, Kelkaz Milos said, "Now all we need to do is complete the preseason preparations and listen carefully to his requirements. I believe this team will be in top form for the new season. I have a very good working relationship with Iraola, and he has helped me grow a lot. In my first year at Bournemouth, we would do game analysis almost every day."

“He likes direct attacks, high pressing and actively pressuring the opponent, and I think this style suits me very well. I believe that not only me, but many players will like this style of football , and I think everything will go smoothly.”
