The Nuggets signed Marvin Bagley to a one-year minimum contract to bolster their interior rotation depth.

The NBA officially confirmed on Thursday that the Denver Nuggets have signed free agent forward Marvin Bagley. According to a previous report by Grant Afcethras of the Dallas Hoops Journal, the two sides reached a one-year veteran minimum contract.

After settling in Denver, 27-year-old Bagley will be entering his eighth NBA season. As the second overall pick in the 2018 NBA draft, he has played for the Sacramento Kings, Detroit Pistons, Washington Wizards, Memphis Grizzlies, and Dallas Mavericks since entering the league.

To date, Bagley has played 349 regular season games, averaging 11.8 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 1.0 assist in 22.0 minutes per game, with a field goal percentage of 53.1% and a three-point percentage of 30.8%. He has also played two playoff games with the Grizzlies, averaging 8.5 points and 3.0 rebounds in 14.0 minutes per game, shooting 8-for-9 from the field and 1-for-1 from three-point range.

For the Nuggets, this signing is primarily aimed at filling the void left by Jonas Valanciunas' return to Lithuania. Especially given the inconsistent performances of Zik Nagy and Darren Holmes II, Bagley's arrival is expected to improve the stability of the team's interior rotation.
