Mainz have confirmed the signing of Alexander Schwolow, further strengthening the team's goalkeeping position.

Bundesliga side Mainz have officially confirmed the signing of German goalkeeper Alexander Schwolow from Scottish side Hearts. The 34-year-old will bring more stability and defensive solidity to Mainz for the new season thanks to his extensive experience.  

Alexander Schwolow, born in Wiesbaden, Germany, stands at 1.90 meters tall. He has made over 200 Bundesliga appearances in his career, and has also played in the 2. Bundesliga, the German Cup, and the Scottish Premiership. Mainz has reached an agreement with Hearts for Schwolow's transfer. After helping his former club complete their next two Champions League qualifiers, the German goalkeeper will arrive at Mainz's training ground on July 30th to officially join the team and begin his new journey.  

Mainz sporting director Nico Bungert spoke highly of the signing, saying, "Alexander Schwolow perfectly fits our expectations for a goalkeeper. He not only has a highly professional attitude but is also a player who values teamwork. He just had a satisfying season with Hearts, where the team ultimately missed out on the Scottish Premiership title by a narrow margin."  

"With over 200 Bundesliga appearances, he has a deep understanding of the German top league. Also, his background near Mainz means he'll be able to adapt to his new environment more easily."  

After completing the transfer, Alexander Schwolow spoke about his new journey, saying, "Mainz has always demonstrated a strong team cohesion, a positive attitude towards the game, and a unique football culture, which aligns perfectly with my personal aspirations. After my experience in Scotland, I wanted to return to the Bundesliga and take on new challenges. From the very beginning, Mainz made me feel that both the team atmosphere and the competitive environment are very suitable for my development."
