Lille defender Aïssa Mandi officially joins Levante on a free transfer..


Levante announced on their official website on Friday that Lille defender, former Algeria national team captain Aïssa Mandi has joined the club on a free transfer.


According to the La Liga club's official statement, Mandi has signed on a short-term two-year deal with the club which will only run until the summer of 2028.


About Aïssa Mandi


The 34-year-old Aïssa Mandi was born on October 22, 1991, in Châlons-en-Champagne, France. He is 1.84 meters tall and primarily plays as a center-back but can also play as a right-back. He holds dual French and Algerian citizenship.


Mandi joined Reims' youth academy at the age of nine and completed his Reims first-team debut in August 2010.


During his seven-year spell at Reims, Mandi helped the team achieve promotion from Ligue 3 to Ligue 1.


In July 2016, Mandi joined Real Betis for €2.5 million.


During his five-year spell with Heliopolitanos, Mandi helped the team reach the Copa del Rey semi-finals once.


In the summer of 2021, Mandi moved to Villarreal on a free transfer.


During his three-year spell with El Submarino Amarillo, Mandi helped the team reach the UEFA Champions League once and the UEFA Europa League Round of 16s once.


In the summer of 2024, Mandi joined Lille on a free transfer.


During his two-year spell with Les Dogues, Mandi made 71 appearances for the Ligue 1 powerhouse in all competitions, scoring one goal, and helped the team reach the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, and the Coupe de France Round of 16s once each.
