Jalen Brunson responds to not recruiting LeBron James

Recently, as the NBA offseason progresses, the topic of LeBron James' next team selection has remained a hot one.

However, Jalen Brunson, the core player of the newly crowned champion New York Knicks, stated clearly at an event that he was not involved in any efforts to recruit LeBron James.

Regarding the recruitment efforts that have drawn attention, Brunson remained focused on his job. He stated frankly, "My job is to put the ball in the basket and do a good job on defense. As for the team's roster building, that's a matter for management to consider. I don't want to interfere with their work."

This statement sparked heated discussions. Interestingly, James' agent, Rich Paul, later revealed the truth behind it: the Knicks winning their first NBA championship in 50 years actually "eliminated" them from the race to win James' title.

Paul stated that if the Knicks fail to win the championship this June, James would indeed very likely join the team. However, as a professional player, James has no intention of joining a newly crowned defending champion team.

For Knicks fans, this might be a sweet dilemma. While missing out on a superstar of LeBron James' caliber is regrettable for many, trading a championship for the opportunity to strengthen the team is undoubtedly a worthwhile trade.

After proving their championship-winning potential with their current core roster, the Knicks' management will no longer focus on pursuing top-paid players, but rather on maintaining the stability of their core to pursue consecutive championships.
