This victory made 65-year-old Luis de la Fuente the oldest manager in history to win the World Cup. After leading the team to victory in the 2024 European Championship and the 2026 World Cup, Spain has maintained a record-breaking 38-game unbeaten run in all competitions, officially establishing its dominance in world football.

After the match, De la Fuente delivered a heartfelt speech at the press conference, emphasizing that the team-first philosophy was key to the team's victory: "We are the most united team, thanks to our cohesive and value-driven members."

Ferran Torres, who scored the decisive goal, expressed a sense of relief after the match, as his performance in the tournament had previously drawn criticism.

In an interview, Torres said: "This goal was scored by 47 million Spanish people, and it was destined to be a game-winning goal. Although facing Messi in the final was indeed a bit nerve-wracking, we ultimately played better football."

When asked whether he would stay on and lead the team in the 2030 World Cup, De la Fuente said he was in no hurry to make a decision and that the most important thing right now was to enjoy this historic moment.
