The Mavericks successfully retained Cisse on a two-year, $4.7 million contract.

July 22 - According to ESPN , the Dallas Mavericks have matched the New York Knicks' two-year, $4.7 million offer for restricted free agent Musa Cissé , successfully keeping the young center on the roster.

Cissé had previously signed a contract offer from the Knicks on Saturday, but the Mavericks quickly made a decision before the 48- hour matching deadline. According to salary expert Bobby Marks, of Cissé's $ 2.2 million salary for the 2026-27 season , $ 1.1 million will become guaranteed after September 1 , and the remainder will become fully guaranteed on October 1 .

According to league rules, since the Mavericks have matched the match, Cissé cannot be traded without his consent for the next year, nor can he be traded to the Knicks.

The 23- year-old Cissé went undrafted after graduating from the University of Memphis and subsequently signed a two-way contract with the Dallas Mavericks before the start of the new season. This offseason, the Mavericks offered him a qualifying offer, making him a restricted free agent.

Last season, this 2.11 - meter center averaged less than 14 minutes per game, contributing 4.5 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.2 blocks.
