July 23 - According to ESPN, Carumar will sign a two-way contract with the Lakers for the 2026-27 season. He previously played for the Lakers' G League affiliate, showcasing his well-rounded skillset and consistent scoring ability in the Summer League.
In the Summer League, Caruma played all 7 games for the Lakers, averaging 17.3 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game, with a field goal percentage of 56% and a three-point percentage of 38% .
In particular, he had a breakout game against the Mavericks, scoring 34 points on 11- of -16 shooting , including 6- of -10 from three-point range , becoming one of the biggest highlights of the Lakers' Summer League roster. He also had a perfect 5- for-5 performance against the Thunder, scoring 18 points.
Kaluma previously signed an Exhibit 10 contract with the Lakers after the draft and continued to improve himself through the G League. During his college years, he played for Creighton University, Kansas State University, and the University of Texas, showcasing a wealth of playing experience.
Last season at the University of Texas, Kaluma averaged 12.3 points and 7.5 rebounds per game. In his college career, he played a total of 134 games, averaging 12.2 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game.
