Al-Ahli officially announce the signing of former Barcelona Portugal international attacking midfielder Francisco Trincão from Sporting Clube de Portugal..

Al-Ahli announced on their official website on Wednesday that they have signed former Barcelona Portugal international attacking midfielder Francisco Trincão from Sporting Clube de Portugal.

According to Al-Ahli's official statement, Trincão has signed on a long-term four-year deal with the club which runs until the summer of 2030.

Furthermore, according to CBS Sports' resident renowned transfer journalist Ben Jacobs, the Saudi Pro League giants paid Sporting Clube de Portugal €40 million to sign Trincão.

After completing his transfer procedures, Trincão, who was interviewed by the Al-Ahli official website for the first time, said: "I am very honoured to join Al-Ahli. I understand the value, history, and fan base of this great club."

"The passion of the Al-Ahli fans is one of the main reasons I made this decision. I promise to fight alongside my teammates to achieve success and make the fans happy."

About Francisco Trincão

The 26-year-old Trincão was born on December 29, 1999, in Viana do Castelo, Portugal. He is 1.83 meters tall and primarily plays as an attacking midfielder, but can also play as a left or right winger.

Trincão played for the youth academy of his hometown club Viananse and also the Porto youth academy. He joined Sporting Clube de Braga's youth academy in 2011, started playing for their B team in April 2016 before completing his Sporting Clube de Braga first-team debut in December 2018 by coming on as a substitute in a Taça da Liga match.

During his year-and-a-half-spell with Sporting Clube de Braga, Trincão won the Taça da Liga once.

In late January 2020, Trincão joined Barcelona for €31 million.

During his time at Barcelona, Trincão won the Copa del Rey with the La Liga giants.

The following July, Trincão was loaned-out to Wolverhampton Wanderers.

In July 2022, Trincão was loaned to Sporting Clube de Portugal, with his ownership rights being permanently purchased for €7 million the following January.

During his four-year spell with the Leões, Trincão made 208 appearances for Sporting Clube de Portugal across all competitions, scoring 47 goals and providing 51 assists, winning the Portuguese Primeira Liga title twice and the Taça do Portugal once.
