Counter Strike 2: Cheaters may face up to 5-year ban as FACE IT adjusted its banning policy..

Dust 2 reported on Monday that, in conjunction with the launch of Season 9 on August 5th, FACE IT has adjusted its banning policy, imposing longer bans on cheaters.

According to the report, under the revised policy, any cheating behaviour will be subject to a five-year ban, with each attempt to evade the ban adding two years, up to a permanent ban.

Smurfing will initially result in a three-month ban, which may be extended from one year to permanent.

Stream sniping will start with a six-month ban, gradually escalating to permanent.

Furthermore, FACE IT has modified the limits on in-game jokes.

Some harmless jokes are still allowed in-game, but any form of abusive language will not be tolerated. Abusive language use will result in a minimum three-day ban.

Serious malicious behaviour and harassment will still result in a minimum seven-day ban, but first-time offenders may face longer bans depending on the severity of the offense.

Repeat offenders will face stricter bans, with the ban potentially becoming permanent as the number of violations increases.

While FACE IT's intentions to improve the negative culture within the Counter Strike 2 (CS2) e-sports scene are good, netizens believe that the inconsistent definitions of acceptable jokes between the authorities and Valve, coupled with precedents of the "wrongdoer" ultimately had sympathy instead, mean that without changing the enforcement methods, any policy changes will ultimately be futile.

Furthermore, with disrespectful remarks towards women becoming increasingly prevalent in professional e-sports, many netizens are hoping that FACE IT and Valve can also implement bans on related issues to curb this unhealthy trend.
