Henderson terminated his contract with Brentford early and will join Chelsea as his next destination.

Brentford announced on Wednesday that they have prematurely terminated the contract of England midfielder Jordan Henderson, which was set to expire next summer. Henderson's next destination is confirmed to be Chelsea, with a contract expected to run until June 30, 2028.

Henderson has been a consistent performer since joining Brentford in July 2025, making 34 appearances and contributing 1 goal and 3 assists. He also represented the Three Lions at the 2026 USA-Mexico World Cup, but only made one appearance.

Before joining Brentford, Henderson played for Sunderland, Coventry City, Liverpool, Darmanitel, and Ajax. He spent the peak of his career at Liverpool, scoring 33 goals and providing 58 assists in 492 appearances across all competitions, winning one Champions League title, one Club World Cup title, one Premier League title, one UEFA Super Cup title, one FA Cup title, two League Cup titles, and one Community Shield title.

After completing the termination of his contract, Henderson said: "I leave Brentford with a heart full of gratitude. Thank you to the club for the opportunity and for the support and care for me and my family from day one."

In return, the club pledged to fully support Jordan's inclusion in England's World Cup squad while maintaining his competitive form as a top Premier League midfielder. Now, all objectives have been achieved."
