Sevilla right-back Juanlu Sanchez has officially joined Bournemouth for a transfer fee of up to €13 million.

Bournemouth announced on Thursday the formal signing of Sevilla right-back Juanlu Sanchez. The two sides reached a four-year contract, valid until June 30, 2030.

For Bournemouth, this signing was intended to fill the void left by Alex Jimenez's move to Fiorentina. They ultimately paid a fixed transfer fee of €11 million for Sanchez, plus €2 million in performance-related bonuses and a 10% cut on any subsequent transfer.

The 22-year-old Sanchez was born in Seville, Spain, and joined his hometown club's youth academy in 2015. On December 15, 2021, he made his first-team debut in the second round of the Copa del Rey.

To date, Sanchez has made 110 appearances for Sevilla, scoring 6 goals and providing 11 assists. He was also loaned out to Mirandés for one season, during which he made 38 appearances, contributing 2 goals and 5 assists.

Regarding the transfer, Bournemouth's Chief Operating Officer Thiago Pinto commented: "Juanlu, though only 22 years old, already possesses a wealth of experience. We are very pleased that he will join Marco Rose's team."

According to the official statement, Sanchez will wear the number 24 jersey at Bournemouth.
