Ben Simmons released a statement hinting at his imminent return to the NBA court.

Ben Simmons posted a statement on Instagram on Saturday, signaling a positive return to the NBA.

“I will not change my story,” he wrote in a statement. “Peaks, troughs, pain, time, lessons—I accept them all. Each experience has left a unique mark on me that no other path could have created. I am grateful for everything I have been through. I am proud of who I am today. I am ready for whatever the future holds.”

As the number one overall pick in the 2016 NBA draft, the 30-year-old Simmons previously played for the Philadelphia 76ers, Brooklyn Nets, and Los Angeles Clippers. After the 2024/25 season, he temporarily left the NBA due to injury issues.

Despite being plagued by injuries in recent years, a healthy Simmons remains one of the most dominant swingmen in the league. To date, he has played 383 regular season games, averaging 13.1 points, 7.4 rebounds, 7.2 assists, and 1.5 steals in 31.1 minutes per game, and has earned numerous accolades, including three-time NBA All-Star, two-time NBA All-Defensive First Team selection, and one NBA steals title.

Simmons also played 39 games in the playoffs, averaging 12.2 points, 7.2 rebounds, 6.6 assists and 1.2 steals in 31.6 minutes per game, with a field goal percentage of 56.7%.
