June 24 - According to ESPN, the Memphis Grizzlies selected Duke University forward Cameron Boozer with the third overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft.
“To be honest, I don’t even know how to describe it,” Boozer told ESPN after being selected. “It’s crazy, an instant of joy and happiness, like experiencing my whole life in a few seconds.”
General Manager Zach Kleiman stated before the draft: " We already have a group of young players, plus we have almost as many first-round picks as any other team in the league, and these assets will quickly prove their worth. "
With former head coach Tyler Jenkins leaving before the 2025 playoffs, the Grizzlies continue their roster rebuild. The addition of Carlos Boozer, along with young players like Cedric Cowward , Jalen Wells , and Zach Eddy , is expected to accelerate the team's rebuilding process.
" We will surprise many people, " Boozer stated .
