A major development has occurred in the transfer market. According to media reports, Manchester City has officially rejected Barcelona's second offer of approximately €60 million (about £51 million) for midfield maestro Rodri.

It is understood that Manchester City's asking price for the 30-year-old Spanish captain and former Ballon d'Or winner is between £60 million and £65 million. With Rodri leaning towards a move to Barcelona, Manchester City have acknowledged his departure is inevitable and have identified Chelsea captain Enzo Fernández as a replacement.

Chelsea have remained firm in their stance, setting a deadline of 5 pm British Summer Time this Friday. Chelsea have made it clear that a formal offer of £120 million is required, otherwise the 25-year-old Argentine World Cup-winning midfielder will remain with the club.

To raise funds, Manchester City have reached an agreement with Saudi club Al-Qadsiah to sell 28-year-old Dutch midfielder Tejani Reindes for around €60 million, with the player agreeing to personal terms.

In addition, Manchester City received good news: 24-year-old winger Jeremy Doku has signed a contract extension and will remain with the club until 2031. He expressed his excitement to play under manager Maresca and thanked the fans for their support.
