Everton's transfer dealings have suffered a series of setbacks, with Moyes admitting he is full of regret.

With the summer transfer window officially closed, Everton Football Club experienced a transfer storm and setback on deadline day.

Everton's manager David Moyes publicly expressed his disappointment in an interview after several key transfers were thwarted at the last minute, admitting that the team failed to achieve its expected goals before the transfer window closed.

In the final stages of this transfer window, Everton originally planned to sign Monaco's 25-year-old striker Fularin Balogun to fill the attacking void left by striker Beto, who transferred to Fiorentina.

Although the two clubs renegotiated the original £40 million deal and submitted a transfer agreement before the transfer window closed, the player suddenly changed his mind and withdrew after experiencing problems during his medical examination, causing the deal to fall through.

Meanwhile, Everton's attempts to sign Joshua Zirkzee and Tammy Abraham in the forward line also failed; their pursuit of Fulham full-back Kenny Tet in defense also stalled as the latter failed to find a replacement.

Looking back on the transfer saga that unfolded by the deadline, Moyes said in an interview: "I'm disappointed that we couldn't make more deals; things didn't go as we planned."

"The Balogun deal is no one's fault. These kinds of accidents sometimes happen in football. The player had a medical problem, that's all. There's nothing more to it."

Speaking about the loss of their key striker and future challenges, Moyer admitted that the team had to compromise: "Selling Ndiaye was originally to raise funds for new signings. He was definitely someone we wanted to keep, but when a team like Manchester City comes knocking, it's hard to resist."

“Some things were indeed not going our way, and there were some details we could have done better. But ultimately, in the world of football, you sometimes have to learn to accept regrets and move on. Now we can only focus all our energy on the game at hand.”
