The 76ers hired Cavaliers general manager Mike Gansey as president of basketball operations.

May 30th - According to ESPN, Cleveland Cavaliers general manager Mike Gansey has signed a multi-year contract with the 76ers. Gansey will become the team's president of basketball operations, succeeding Darrell Morey, who recently left the position, and will be fully responsible for the team's basketball affairs.

 

The 43- year-old Gansey has steadily risen through the ranks since joining the Cavaliers' management in the 2011-12 season, becoming a key figure behind the team's rebuilding and rise. Now, he will succeed Morey as the 76ers ' top management.

 

During his tenure with the Cavaliers, Gansey and President of Basketball Operations Koby Altman contributed to the team becoming a long-term playoff contender. This season, the Cavaliers achieved 52 wins and reached the Eastern Conference Finals. During this period, the management also traded Darius Garland to the Clippers before the trade deadline in exchange for James Harden, further enhancing the team's competitiveness.
