Russian Counter Strike 2 powerhouse BETBOOM (BB) announced on Monday via their official X (Twitter) account that their rifler s1ren will miss the early stages of the Intel Extreme Masters (IEM) Cologne Major.
BETBOOM (BB) did not disclose the reason for s1ren's absence in their official statement, nor did they specify at which stage he would officially join the roster, only briefly stating that he would play "at a later time."
During his absence, stand-in d1Ledez will temporarily play with the main roster. BB has the right to exercise its tournament rules to reinstate s1ren to the main roster once he becomes available.
Because the organizers only allow each team one roster change during the tournament, exercising this right means the team cannot request another roster change for the remainder of the Intel Extreme Masters (IEM) Cologne Major.
s1ren's absence highlights the recent visa issues which the Counter Strike 2 powerhouse is facing. Previously, BB had repeatedly faced visa issues for its players, preventing them from fielding a consistent starting five.
BB will face Gaimin Gladiators on June 2nd at 9:30 PM local time in Atlanta, USA.
In the recently concluded IEM Atlanta, BB finished fourth, losing to Legacy in the semifinals.
BETBOOM (BB)'s starting lineup for the Intel Extreme Masters (IEM) Cologne Major is as follows:
In-Game Leader: Boombl4
AWP-er: zorte
Rifler: d1Ledez
Rifler: Magnojez
Entry Fragger: FL4MUS (on-loan from Virtus.pro (VP)
Rifler: s1ren (stand-in)
Head Coach: Fierce
