Southampton Town have officially signed Daniel Peretz to a four-year contract.

Southampton Football Club is pleased to announce the official signing of goalkeeper Daniel Perez. The Bayern Munich goalkeeper joins Southampton on a permanent transfer and has signed a four-year contract with the club.

Since joining from Bayern Munich on loan in January, 25-year-old Daniel Perez has quickly earned recognition with his consistent and outstanding performances. He has not only effectively improved the team's defensive quality, but also helped the team finish the season with an impressive 21-game unbeaten run in the Championship under the management of Toda Ekert.

During the team's 21-game unbeaten league run, Daniel Perez consistently started in goal and played the full 90 minutes, keeping eight clean sheets. He also shone in the FA Cup, making crucial saves against Premier League teams like Fulham, Arsenal, and Manchester City, helping his team reach the semi-finals.

Daniel Peretz, a product of Maccabi Tel Aviv's youth academy, made over 100 official appearances for the Israeli giants, gradually developing into a highly regarded young goalkeeper. He then transferred to Bayern Munich, where he gained invaluable learning and development opportunities under Manuel Neuer. Having admired the legendary German goalkeeper since childhood, Peretz benefited greatly from Neuer's guidance. During his time at Bayern, he made 7 official appearances for the team.

Since joining Southampton, Daniel Peretz has quickly become an important member of the team. By the end of the season, he had made 26 appearances for the club in all competitions and successfully adapted to the challenges of the Championship's high-intensity, packed schedule. In the matches he played, the team suffered only two defeats, demonstrating his consistent performance and positive contributions.

Speaking about his decision to officially join Southampton, Daniel Peretz said: “I am very excited. Over the past few months, I have felt at home here. We have shared many wonderful moments and faced some difficulties and challenges together. I was particularly touched by the team’s unity at the end of the season, and the sense of belonging was very strong.”

“This is the key factor that ultimately led me to decide to stay. There is no doubt that playing in the Premier League and reaching the world’s top football stage has always been my dream. But for me, it is even more meaningful to achieve this goal together with Southampton. I firmly believe that the team has the ability to do so, and that we can grow together and realize our dreams.”

Regarding the completion of this permanent transfer, Group Technical Director Johannes Spoelstra said: "When we brought in Daniel Perez on loan in January, we already had a full understanding of his abilities. Over the past few months, he has proven his value with his performances and demonstrated his significant impact on the team. He has always been confident in his abilities, and this positive attitude has also inspired and motivated his teammates."

“In the period following the end of the season, I had several in-depth conversations with Daniel Peretz. From these exchanges, it was clear that he always wanted to remain a part of the team, even though he had other options.”

“We are delighted to officially welcome back Daniel Perez with a long-term contract. He has proven his importance to the team. Moving forward, we hope to build on the solid foundation laid last season and continue to strive for further development and success for the team.”
