Inter Milan triggered Serbia international defensive midfielder Aleksandar Stanković's buy-back clause..


Inter Milan announced on their official website on Friday that they have triggered the buy-back clause of Club Brugge's Serbia international defensive midfielder Aleksandar Stanković.


According to the reigning Serie A champions' official statement, Stankovic has signed a five-year contract with the club, running until the summer of 2031.


About Aleksandar Stanković


Aleksandar Stanković, who is only still 20 years old, was born on August 3, 2005, in Milan, Italy. Standing at 1.85 meters tall, he plays as a defensive midfielder and holds dual Milanese and Serbian citizenship. His father, Dejan, is a former Inter Milan Serbia international legendary midfielder and currently the head coach of Red Star Belgrade.


Stanković joined Inter Milan's youth academy at the age of 11, following in his father's footsteps. Although he has never played for I Nerazzurri, he still won the Coppa Italia and Supercoppa Italiana once each with the club.


In July 2024, Stanković was loaned-out to Luzern.


The following summer, Stanković joined Club Brugge for €10 million.


Last season, Stanković made 55 appearances for Club Brugge in all competitions, scoring 9 goals and providing 5 assists. During which he helped the team win the Jupiler Pro League title, reach the quarterfinals of the Belgian Cup, and was named the Jupiler Pro League Young Player of the Year.
