According to an official announcement from Sevilla, Nemanja Gudelj will leave the club after seven seasons and 261 official appearances. During his time with the team, he won two Europa League titles and served as a key player and leader during the club's most difficult periods, earning widespread respect from the fans. The club and the player have reached an agreement to part ways after his contract expires on June 30th.
Nemanja Gudelj joined Sevilla in the summer of 2019 at the age of 27 and has now left the club at 34. During his time there, he completed his initial four-year contract and then signed a new three-year extension with the club in 2023.
During his time at Sevilla, he made a total of 261 official appearances, ranking among the club's most capped foreign players. This includes 196 La Liga matches, 23 Copa del Rey matches, 21 Europa League matches, 19 Champions League matches, and 2 UEFA Super Cup matches. He was a key member of the team that won the Europa League titles in 2020 (Cologne) and 2023 (Budapest).
Despite primarily playing in a defensive position, he still made contributions on the offensive end. He didn't score his first goal until October 2022, but finished the following season with four goals, including one in the Seville derby against Real Betis and another in European competition against PSV Eindhoven.
Furthermore, Nemanja Gudelj was a regular member of the Serbian national team throughout his time with Sevilla, making 53 appearances and participating in the 2022 World Cup and the 2024 European Championship. Sevilla FC expresses its sincere gratitude for his seven years of dedication and hard work and wishes him all the best for the future.
